Lat. sexual maturity. The physical and mental development of a person in the transitional phase from childhood to adulthood. Sexual maturation also occurs during this phase. As a "side effect" on the way to adulthood, adolescents in puberty often have great difficulties with visible sweating and unpleasant body odor, in addition to emotional turmoil.
