Short and Sweet: The Key Takeaways
Spring into Action Without the Sweat
This piece is all about how you can properly enjoy springtime activities and get a good workout in without ending up all hot and bothered with sweat.
Sweating During Springtime Outdoor Exercise is Fun and Healthy!
Spring is finally here! Many people are now looking to tackle that winter padding and are heading outdoors for some exercise. Of course, this means sweating more. With our tips, outdoor exercise will be even more enjoyable, and you'll breeze through spring feeling fit.
Spring is finally starting to arrive. The sun is making earlier and longer appearances, the trees are slowly turning green, and the mild temperatures are inviting us to get out and about in the fresh air more. Exercising outdoors is healthy, and when the weather gets better, it's also a lot of fun. However, as the temperatures aren't yet very high, there are a few things to keep in mind before you head outside for your workout – you don't want to overdo it straight away. We've put together some helpful tips for you: all about outdoor exercise in spring and, of course, how you can start spring feeling not only fit but also sweat-free.
The Joy of Sweating During Exercise, Especially Outdoors
When we break a sweat during exercise, it not only affects our fitness, but the sweating and physical activity can also trigger feelings of happiness. Many people are familiar with that feeling after exercise of being tired but also elated thanks to their achievement, carrying them through the rest of the day. Especially when exercising outdoors, when the sun is shining and you get some extra light, happy hormones can be released. On top of that, the fresh oxygen invigorates our whole body, and we feel refreshed.
So, don't be afraid to sweat during exercise. It's actually important so that the body can regulate the heat generated by the exertion and prevent us from overheating. However, those who exercise regularly also positively train their sweating behaviour, and the system works all the better. Through regular exercise, the body reacts more quickly to temperature increases. The heart and circulation are spared, and the pulse becomes lower in the long run, as does blood pressure. The composition of sweat changes during endurance exercise, and fewer electrolytes are excreted. So, sweating can also be a good sign that you have good fitness... and you're rewarded with the happy hormones dopamine and adrenaline. The resulting feelings of happiness boost self-confidence and thus also a positive aura.

Arriving at the Office Fresh, Not Sweaty with Sweat Patches
So, outdoor exercise is healthy, and sweating is natural too, but those who want to use their commute to work – for example, by bike, rollerblades, longboard or even jogging – don't necessarily want to arrive at the office sweaty with sweat patches on their fresh shirt. Sometimes there's the option to shower or freshen up at work. Depending on which sporty commute you choose, you should take a rucksack with a change of clothes. If you know from experience that you generally tend to sweat heavily, you can also use antiperspirants in the long term.
Antiperspirants can help to regulate sweat production in a targeted way. This doesn't affect normal, healthy sweating. However, excessive sweating can be significantly reduced, so that, for example, annoying sweat patches under the arms on a fresh shirt can be avoided. The everdry Antiperspirant Body Roll-On is particularly suitable for this and should be used regularly. The ingredients it contains narrow the sweat glands, thus specifically reducing sweat release in certain areas of the body. You can find detailed information on how antiperspirants work here: How Antiperspirants Work
This doesn't restrict healthy sweating, as our entire body is covered in sweat glands. Only sweating in specific areas of the body, which then causes those unsightly sweat patches on clothing, can be avoided in this way.
For those who want to be absolutely sure that no sweat patches appear on their good shirt or blouse, we recommend using discreet underarm pads. These can be easily stuck into clothing and absorb sweat directly where it's produced. In the everdry online shop, you'll find not only underarm pads but also other products that effectively combat sweating.
Don't Underestimate the Temperatures When Exercising Outdoors
Despite all the enthusiasm for finally being able to exercise extensively outdoors again, it shouldn't be forgotten that the temperatures are not yet directly summery warm. Depending on the weather, it's therefore necessary to choose the right sportswear. If you dress too coolly, you can quickly cool down your body too much, strain your immune system, and develop a cold. If you dress too warmly, you'll sweat excessively, and your body won't be able to regulate the heat properly.
That's why it's advisable to invest in intelligent running clothing or functional clothing. The material used for functional clothing has various properties that help to wick away sweat. This prevents the garments from becoming soaked with sweat, and the body doesn't cool down too much. Coolmax functional clothing helps to keep the body at a consistently comfortable temperature level, regardless of the ambient temperature. Thanks to a special surface structure, sweat can evaporate maximally. The skin and clothing remain dry. Furthermore, hollow spaces in the Thermocool yarn ensure optimal air circulation, which acts as an insulating layer.
So... get out there, give spring a warm welcome, and enjoy the sun with some sporty activity – without sweating too much or getting chilly!
